My personal journey into this work

Growing up as a sensitive, shy, introverted kid, art became the way I could more easily express and communicate my complex inner world. Art therapy seemed to be obvious career choice as it combined my love of art and depth psychology as well as my desire to help others. In 2010 I completed my master’s degree in art therapy and in 2013 became a licensed mental health counselor. During this same time I became a certified yoga and meditation teacher and started using mindful movement and yoga nidra meditation with my clients.

My initial specialization in eating disorders evolved into a broader focus on complex trauma. After 9 years of working primarily in eating disorder treatment programs, I went into private practice. I completed certification in EMDR therapy followed by certification in Internal Family Systems (IFS) which quickly became my preferred model.

Over the next several years I noticed my client focus was evolving again. More and more of my clients were therapists themselves looking for something different than what they could do for themselves. I took a deep dive into dream work and evolutionary astrology and eventually started weaving them into my work with clients.

Many of my clients were also looking to better understand their ADHD, Autistic, and gifted traits and separate out the effects of trauma from their neurodivergent hardwiring. I began educating myself about neurodivergence and the neurodiversity movement. Ironically, I was slow to come to the realization that I too am wired differently. Like so many others, it was discovering that my child is neurodivergent that eventually led to my own self-discovery.

As I came to recognize and embrace my own neurocomplexity* and multipotentiality**, my colorful career path made a lot more sense. I had held some shame around the fact that I have always struggled to do one thing at a time and keep things simple. Once I understood my intellectual and creative needs for complexity, challenge, meta-thinking and synthesis it made sense that I’ve never fit neatly into any one professional box. I’ve always preferred venn diagrams over boxes anyway!

In early 2025 I shifted my private practice from psychotherapy to coaching with a focus on neurocomplex (gifted and 2e/me) adults so I can support others on a similar (nonlinear) path. This is where I fit best and where I can be of most service to others. I am excited to have arrived here and interested to see where my curiosity takes me next!

*a term coined by Lindsey Mack to use in place of giftedness/twice exceptionality which describes the intersection of neurodivergent wiring that includes increased complexity in the areas of cognition, sensory receptivity, attention, creativity, and/or intuition.

**A multipotentialite, a term popularized by Emilie Wapnick, is a person with a wide range of interests and creative pursuits who excels in multiple disciplines, rather than specializing in one area.

  • My Approach is Neurodiversity Affirming

I strive to create a neurodiversity affirming coaching practice and celebrate diversity in all its forms. As someone who identifies as neurocomplex I work particularly well with high-capacity thinkers with unique needs for depth, complexity, creativity, questioning, and meta-thinking. I invite all who have been told they are too much, too intense, too sensitive, too emotional, or too curious to show up unmasked, unmuted, and untamed. I provide transformational tools for rebel souls—those who hold a beautiful vision for how things could be and feel compelled to challenge the status quo.

  • My Approach is Spiritual & Collectivist

I use IFS (Internal Family Systems) which is inherently spiritual, non-pathologizing, rooted in shamanism, and compatible with indigenous and collectivist models for healing. In contrast to hyper-individualized, Western approaches to healing, IFS is a systems model that has the capacity to address not just individual trauma but also intergenerational and collective trauma. By challenging the Western paradigm and viewing the individual within the larger context of culture and systems of oppression, inner work becomes more than personal—it becomes about collective healing and liberation.

  • My Approach is Empowering & Deep

I know my clients already have everything they need to heal from the past, liberate themselves from internalized constraints, and create a life that feels deeply satisfying, purposeful, and joyful. I am not the healer; my role is helping my clients access their own innate healing power. By empowering my clients to heal themselves, profound and lasting transformation can occur within the coaching relationship without ever crossing the bounds into therapy. Because I have extensive training and experience as a trauma therapist I have the capacity to hold space for my clients to go as deep as they desire, and as is necessary, to achieve their goals for integration and authentic self-expression.

  • My Approach is Self-led & Sustainable

I work with my clients’ internal system as a whole and facilitate Self-leadership so that the intentions and goals set for our work are sustainable and lead to lasting change and inner harmony. Coaches and therapists who lack training, skill and experience to detect the difference between the authentic Self and parts of the personality often inadvertently align or collude with dominant parts while ignoring quieter ones that may have conflicting needs and/or desires. This innocent mistake can actually intensify internal conflict and lead to stalled progress, power struggles, and self-sabotaging behavior. Simply becoming more Self-led in life is one of the primary goals of my approach because when we are Self-led we naturally align our thoughts and behaviors with our highest personal values and soul intentions.

  • My Approach is Intuitive & Embodied

In addition to IFS, I weave in complementary tools and frameworks that empower clients to access and trust their own intuitive knowing as well as open channels of connection with benevolent ancestors and spiritual guides. For example, through dream work, intuitive art making, guided mediation, and astrology, clients can become attuned to the symbolic and embodied language of their soul. As a coach I model subtle energy attunement by guiding the session intuitively and responsively rather than sticking rigidly to a prescribed plan for the session. I offer resources but I never assign homework. I trust my clients to set the right rhythm and pace for their own evolution.

Fun Stuff about me

  • I am a New Year’s baby and like to imagine that the whole world is celebrating my birthday.

  • For several years I had a side gig making and selling handwoven beaded jewelry. I quit when it went from feeling like a fun hobby to a job.

  • Before I was a therapist I was professional house painter and I still love painting house interiors. Nothing quiets my mind like cutting in a wall.

  • Once when I was 18 and living in Italy I went to Capri for the weekend and asked some old guy to take a picture of me at a scenic spot—turns out it was Valentino, the fashion designer. (This story still makes me laugh!)

  • I was an AmeriCorps volunteer in New Orleans post hurricane Katrina but got kicked out half way through for adopting a feral puppy off the streets.

  • I now have two cats, Magnolia and Bridgette, who I am obsessed with.

  • I bake when I am stressed. My favorite muffins come from this cookbook written for long distance runners. I am not a runner but I ran a half marathon a couple years ago just to prove to myself that I could.
