Bowling with the Pin Head Men
My husband, daughter, and I are in a bowling alley. My husband is playing well and knocking down most of the pins but my daughter and I are playing badly and our balls are going in the gutter. I don’t mind being bad at bowling and I think it’s just fun and silly but then I realize that my husband’s female friend/coworker is also playing with us virtually and she can see our scores. I feel a little embarrassed and wish that my husband had told me that she was playing with us. I decided to try harder to do better. I don’t want his friend to have a negative opinion of me. I roll the ball down the alley and it knocks down most of the pins, but then suddenly the pins transform into men. It’s like their bodies are submerged in the floor and just their shoulders and heads are above ground. I feel frustrated with them because they aren’t cooperating with the game—they haven’t gone away even though I knocked the pins (their pin-heads) down. Suddenly I noticed my cat walking around in a different part of the bowling alley with another cat and my focus shifts to concern about my cat getting into trouble or being up too late. I realize we need to get my cat home.
