Transformational Tools for Rebel Souls

What does it mean to be a rebel soul?

For me, being a rebel soul is about choosing authenticity over conformity and pushing against the dominant Western cultural values rooted in White supremacy, capitalism, individualism, and patriarchy. My rebel nature is inherently tied to my particular flavor of neurodivergent wiring and means that I also:

  • Enjoy thinking about and exploring things from a meta perspective

  • Have an insatiable curiosity about the human psyche and related special interests

  • See connections between ideas/concepts/experiences that others miss

  • Have an aversion to hierarchy and believe respect must be earned

  • Prefer deep existential conversations over superficial chitchat

  • Need to challenge the status quo in my quest for the ideal

These qualities inform my unique approach to coaching using the IFS model. Curious if we might be a good fit?

Here are five characteristics that define my approach to coaching:

  1. Neurodiversity Affirming

I strive to create a neurodiversity affirming coaching practice and celebrate diversity in all its forms. As someone who identifies as neurocomplex I work particularly well with high-capacity thinkers with unique needs for depth, complexity, creativity, questioning, and meta-thinking. I invite all who have been told they are too much, too intense, too sensitive, too emotional, or too curious to show up unmasked, unmuted, and untamed. I provide transformational tools for rebel souls—those who hold a beautiful vision for how things could be and feel compelled to challenge the status quo.

2. Spiritual & Collectivist

Some of the reasons I love IFS is that it is inherently spiritual, non-pathologizing, rooted in shamanism, and compatible with indigenous and collectivist models for healing. In contrast to hyper-individualized, Western approaches to healing, IFS is a systems model that has the capacity to address not just individual trauma but also intergenerational and collective trauma. By challenging the Western paradigm and viewing the individual within the larger context of culture and systems of oppression, inner work becomes more than personal—it becomes about collective healing and liberation.

3. Empowering & Deep

I know my clients already have everything they need to heal from the past, liberate themselves from internalized constraints, and create a life that feels deeply satisfying, purposeful, and joyful. I am not the healer; my role is helping my clients access their own innate healing power. By empowering my clients to heal themselves, profound and lasting transformation can occur within the coaching relationship without ever crossing the bounds into therapy. Because I have extensive training and experience as a trauma therapist I have the capacity to hold space for my clients to go as deep as they desire, and as is necessary, to achieve their goals for integration and authentic self-expression.

4. Self-led & Sustainable

I work with my clients’ internal system as a whole and facilitate Self-leadership so that the intentions and goals set for our work are sustainable and lead to lasting change and inner harmony. Coaches and therapists who lack training, skill and experience to detect the difference between the authentic Self and parts of the personality often inadvertently align or collude with dominant parts while ignoring quieter ones that may have conflicting needs and/or desires. This innocent mistake can actually intensify internal conflict and lead to stalled progress, power struggles, and self-sabotaging behavior. Simply becoming more Self-led in life is one of the primary goals of my approach because when we are Self-led we naturally align our thoughts and behaviors with our highest personal values and soul intentions.

5. Intuitive & Embodied

In addition to IFS, I weave in complementary tools and frameworks that empower clients to access and trust their own intuitive knowing as well as open channels of connection with benevolent ancestors and spiritual guides. For example, through dream work, intuitive art making, guided mediation, and astrology, clients can become attuned to the symbolic and embodied language of their soul. As a coach I model subtle energy attunement by guiding the session intuitively and responsively rather than sticking rigidly to a prescribed plan for the session. I offer resources but I never assign homework. I trust my clients to set the right rhythm and pace for their own evolution.
